EPHEMERAL DISCONNECTION is a real time noise mapping passage imagined as a structure witch permits to isolate himself for a few minutes from the external world and to creates a fleeting of the 'ephemeral disconnection'. The main function of the passage is to visualize the noise in the form of interactive light mapping. The design brings the inside space to make of the passage the illusionary impression of coming into the wave of noise in motion. The project can also be perceived as a sort of urban landmark in the public space that shows the real time variations of the noise. In the polluted context of the city, the passage creates then a responsive environment and a reactive place where a passerby participates in a sensitive relationship with his environment. In this way passage becomes a new urban marker in a public space that drafts an environmental framework. As an evident form of the critical approach, the passage creates a sensory experience, a place for a personal reflection in nowadays-urban reality.

EPHEMERAL DISCONNECTION est un passage accessible à tous qui capte en temps réel le bruit et qui, sans être imposé, crée un moment de déconnexion éphémère avec le monde extérieur. En rentrant dans le passage, le passant a l’impression de rentrer dans une onde en mouvement et en même temps dans un espace silencieux permettant de réaliser la différence entre le dedans et le dehors. Cette cartographie interactive montre la variation de bruits en temps réel sous forme d'une modulation de la lumière. Comme sorte d’un sonomètre urbain, le passage devient réactif et en même temps un nouveau repère dans l’espace public. Dans ce contexte, le passage réactif crée alors un endroit où un passant participe à une relation sensible avec son environnement. De cette manière, le passage devient un nouveau marqueur urbain dans un espace public qui redessine le cadre environnemental. Comme une forme évidente d'approche critique, il crée également une expérience sensorielle, une place pour une réflexion personnelle de la réalité urbaine d'aujourd'hui.
