MY WORK ON ARTPOINT
Trained as an architect, Joanna Wlaszyn holds a PhD in Critical Theory of Architecture from Université Paris-Est. Joanna has published numerous scientific publications exploring the impact of digital technologies on the visual arts. Her work has been the subject of international exhibitions in museums, galleries and art festivals: The Wrong Biennale IN ABSENTIA Pavilion, CICA Museum in South Korea, Athens Digital Arts Festival ADAF in Greece, Artifact Exhibition at the Biennale internationale d'art et de design de Saint-Étienne, LACADA Center in Los Angeles, ADNEC National Exhibition Centre, Abu Dhabi, ON-OFF Gallery in Paris and Untitled Space Gallery in New York, among others.

De formation architecte, Joanna Wlaszyn est titulaire d'un doctorat en Théorie critique de l'architecture de l'Université Paris-Est. Elle a publié de nombreuses publications scientifiques explorant l'impact des technologies numériques sur les arts visuels. F@CELESS: A MIRROR OF LIQUID IDENTITIES /NFT exhibition curated by Art.army
According to the social theorist Zygmunt Bauman, the notion of identity is a key concept for understanding the changing and ambivalent nature of social life and personal experience in our contemporary, liquid age. As we grapple with the insecurity and uncertainty of liquid modernity, Bauman argues that our identities have become more precarious than ever: we live in an era of constant change and disposability, so our identities as a result have become transient and deeply elusive. In a world of rapid global change where social networks have become a new prominence, our identities are in a state of continuous flux and becoming understated, invisible, or secret. All these developments are contributing to a sense of fragmentation and uncertainty, in which the traditional resources for identity formation are no longer so straightforward or so easily available.

Selon le théoricien social Zygmunt Bauman, la notion d'identité est un concept clé pour comprendre la nature changeante et ambivalente de la vie sociale et de l'expérience personnelle à notre époque liquide contemporaine. Alors que nous sommes aux prises avec l'insécurité et l'incertitude de la modernité liquide, Bauman soutient que nos identités sont devenues plus précaires que jamais : nous vivons à une époque de changement constant et de disponibilité, de sorte que nos identités sont devenues transitoires et profondément insaisissables. Dans un monde de changement global rapide où les réseaux sociaux sont devenus une nouvelle proéminence, nos identités sont dans un état de flux continu et deviennent sous-estimées, invisibles ou secrètes. Tous ces développements contribuent à un sentiment de fragmentation et d'incertitude, dans lequel les ressources traditionnelles pour la formation de l'identité ne sont plus aussi simples ou aussi facilement disponibles.

I'am glad to be featured in Future Now 2019: 100 Contemporary Artists from the Aesthetica Art Prize. Recognizing both innovation and creativity, the Aesthetica Art Prize anthology showcases captivating projects from some of today’s leading artists, both established and emerging, across four categories. The pieces included this year’s anthology draw on both personal and universal narratives, looking at how we are so connected to the internet and our own personal profiles — along with likes and shares – that we are forgetting how to forget something. Now is the time to evaluate the wider impact this will have on culture and future generations. In the age of globalisation, societies are becoming homogenized and identity is fluid. What does this mean for the individual?

Through various works, the exhibition proposes a walk in free narration into another representation of the reality. Capturing the moment through deformation, diffraction and the concealment of identities, artists have appropriated the present moment to create a suspended space-time.

Participation in the Artifact Exhibition at the International Design Biennal Saint Etienne (France) with the projet: Beauty Distortion Mirror. It presents a selection of projects after nearly 500 international entries. The 2015 edition offers a selection of varied projects, formal or conceptual, industrial object poetic idea, interacting with each other. Part of the selection is presented to the Labour Exchange, a strong and historic site in the heart of the city, echoing another party made within H buildings in the Cité du Design - Manufacture website, which hosts some of the Biennial, held this year on the theme: The Experiences of Beauty.

sélection de projets très variés, formels ou conceptuels, de l’objet industriel à l’idée poétique, dialoguant les uns avec les autres. Une partie de la sélection est présentée à
la Bourse du travail, un lieu fort et historique au coeur de la ville, faisant écho à une autre partie présentée dans les bâtiments H à la Cité du design – Site Manufacture, qui
accueille une partie de la Biennale, organisée cette année sur le theme : Les Senses du Beau.

Participation to Snap to Grid Open Exhibit of digital art in Los Angeles Center for Digital Art. Every year for 50 years the L.A. Municipal Gallery has held its 'Open Call' exhibit where any artist can show up with their art and an entry fee (to benefit gallery programs) and the piece is shown. The Los Angeles Center For Digital Art decided to launch an international experiment of the same nature where the artists are invited to present their work in the gallery. The hundreds of works are displayed in a grid like installation (reminiscent of postcard art shows of the 1980's) where every work submitted is exhibited.

Participation à l'exposition de l'art numérique Snap to Grid Open Exhibit à Los Angeles Center for Digital Art. Chaque année depuis 50 ans, la Galerie municipale LA organise son exposition 'Open Call' où tout artiste peut se présenter avec son art et un droit d'entrée (au profit des programmes de la galerie) et son oeuvre est exposée. Le Los Angeles Center For Digital Art a décidé de lancer une expérience internationale de même nature où les artistes sont invités à exposer dans la galerie. Les centaines d'œuvres sont affichées dans une grille comme installation (qui rappelle le spectacle d'art des cartes postales des années 1980) où chaque travail soumis est exposé.

Presentation of my research about technological performance & variability of the ambiance at the 2nd International Congress on Ambiances: 'Ambiances in action' at Canadian Centre for Architecture CCA in Montreal. The second International Congress on Ambiances is held under the aegis of the International Ambiances Network. The congress, organized every four years, is one of the network’s main events, an international gathering for researchers, artists and players engaged in analyzing the ambiance-related dimensions of the built environment and in the sensory construction of the contemporary world.
